LRHS is meeting the new CPR requirement through our required freshmen health course. Mrs. Latimer brought in an expert to lead the students through the training on December 18th. Students learned that chest compressions are the most important part of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. By using the familiar tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat,” students developed the appropriate pace that could potentially save a life.

For school year 2017-18 and each school year thereafter, upon graduation from high school pupils in public schools and charter schools shall have received thirty minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation instruction and training in the proper performance of the Heimlich maneuver or other first aid for choking given any time during a pupil's four years of high school.
